YEREVAN, May 6. /TASS/. Relations between Russia and Armenia are not facing a crisis of confidence, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said.
Matviyenko, who is in Yerevan on an official visit, brushed off allegations that Russia and Armenia were in the midst of such a crisis of confidence. "I don’t have that perception. On the contrary, like us, Armenia has demonstrated its interest in expanding our multifaceted bilateral cooperation," the speaker of Russia’s upper house of parliament said.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, too, said with confidence that he faced no issues in relations with the Russian leader, she added. "The [Armenian] prime minister <…> emphasized that, despite any insinuations, he and Vladimir [Putin] have always maintained constructive and meaningful relations," Matviyenko explained.
"They always find mutual understanding and necessary solutions in various, sometimes difficult situations," the senior Russian senator specified.
