The woman wounded several passersby with a knife

BERLIN, June 7. /TASS/. A 30-year-old woman committed a knife attack in Munich at Theresienwiese, the usual site of the world’s largest beer festival, Oktoberfest, reports the newspaper Bild.

According to the publication, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. (9:00 p.m. Moscow time). The woman wounded several passersby with a knife. The police reportedly shot her, as noted by the newspaper. Following the incident, she underwent emergency surgery. However, according to Bild, the woman later died in the hospital.

There is currently no information regarding the motive behind the incident. Authorities have stated that there is no threat to the general public. According to Bild, the woman had a history of mental health issues. No official information has yet been released concerning the condition of the injured.

A large number of police officers are present at the scene. The area has been cordoned off.
